“Acquire knowledge, and learn tranquility and dignity.”
Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA)
The Muslim Association of Bolingbrook Sunday School’s ultimate goal is to ensure our children develop a love for Islam. In order to live Islam, they must first learn to build a love for Allah ﷻ and His Prophet ﷺ (peace and blessings be upon him). They will then be able to learn Islam and be allowed to live Islam, accordingly.
There have been several improvements with a staff of 70+ volunteers, and 230 students that account for the MAB Weekend School, which has been operating on Sundays at Masjid Al-Jumu’ah. The Sunday school program is currently at capacity with each class grade filled with a maximum number of students.
The program is led by Dr. Mohammed Taher, chairman of the MAB Weekend School program. He also serves as the Principal of CPSA regular school, having over forty-five years of professional experience in the domain of industry, academia and community service. He holds a Ph.D. in Education from Northern Illinois University and has worked to establish weekend schools throughout the Chicago-land area since the 1980s. He has a wonderful team of professionals who form the MAB Weekend School Administration team.

Together, the weekend school team has a mission of providing basic knowledge of Islam to children of our community with an inviting, encouraging, and supportive environment. Our latest, engaging, and relevant curriculum is rooted in the guidance of Qura’an and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him).
The weekend school curriculum is still a work in progress and can be found at: http://babulilmlrc.org/curriculum/curriculum.htm
